Copyright Science Systems Consulting, Inc.3 Two Pronged Approach We need a two pronged approach to the technical approach –bottom up approach - capture the wisdom and experience of the incumbent –top down approach - capture the excitement of a new company with bold ideas and a shared vision Integrated into a technical approach that is exciting and comprehensive

Copyright Science Systems Consulting, Inc.4 Bottom Up Approach Address all elements of SOW Show our understanding of each requirement Show our technical approach to each requirement Build up staffing estimates - types and numbers of people Identify critical issues; key points for each Identify existing approaches that we know work well Identify new approaches that we know will work Propose innovative ideas

Copyright Science Systems Consulting, Inc.5 Top Down Approach Make complete list of customer desires and where they want new or significantly modernized or advanced approaches – use the results of customer interviews Demonstrate in-depth understanding of each of these customer issues Develop new ideas and approaches to address each of the customer issues Create and provide the vision and win themes for overall technical approach Demonstrate a complete solution to this vision and mission

Copyright Science Systems Consulting, Inc.6 Some Areas Requiring Fresh or Significantly Different Approaches Science Acquisition Positioning for new missions Integration with missions and communities Integration of systems and standards Automation of processes Service to service capabilities Space science assimilation New business using capabilities of new satellite operations New business using data visualization capability New approach to management Initiatives for science scenarios Overall mission and vision going forward Others…….
