Habitat Grosse Pointe Partners

We want to ‘Thank You!’ for your past support. Keep you updated on our accomplishments Ask for continued support: – Leadership & Planning – Funding and Outreach – Volunteering (new or increased participation)

Habitat Grosse Pointe Partners First Some Basics: Formed in 1997 (19 years of service) 15 member churches throughout the Pointes We are a 501 (c) (3) Tax Exempt Not for Profit Organization.

Habitat Grosse Pointe Partners What we do: Our Mission We are a partner with and support Habitat for Humanity – Detroit. – We facilitate the building affordable low cost housing in the metro Detroit area through fundraising and volunteerism.

Habitat Grosse Pointe Partners How do we do it: Planning: Our all volunteer operating committee meets on the 1 st Wednesday of each month for about 1 hour September through June. Our agenda driven meetings typically discuss recent volunteer activities, possible future activities, group finances and fundraising, projects that support our charter. This meeting location rotates through our active church membership. You are encouraged to participate. HGPP Second Saturday Builds Each month we have an opportunity for YOUR ACTIVE participation. Lead by a volunteer coordinator from our ‘Host’ church for the month, a group of partners (typically 7 to 10) will work at a construction site. Build activities often include: Painting, insulation, landscaping, carpentry or cleaning, on new or rehab homes.

Habitat Grosse Pointe Partners How do we do it (continued) Typically we help in any way we can. Activities are available for all interests and skill levels. (Age restrictions are in place for some construction activities) HFHD Re Store :Your source for discounted paint, building material, furniture and more: is located on just down the street on Mack Ave.

Habitat Grosse Pointe Partners What WE have accomplished: Assisted in building over 100 homes in the Morningside neighborhood. Provided manpower/volunteers to HFHD annual Summer Blitz builds Provided funds to build all or major parts of a home for the summer Blitz build for 10 years straight! Participated in HFHD Red Carpet Bash prep and set building.

Habitat Grosse Pointe Partners We do not do this alone: WE NEED YOU! – Our organization cannot function without dedicated volunteers and finding. – We ask for your continued support. More Help is needed!
