Today’s Goals Why is WOW part of the CSH framework? Who’s responsible? What are they responsible for? What resources are available? Communication District Vision Summary

Why WOW? Encourages students to develop positive habits and attitudes about themselves and physical activity so that they will choose to be physically active throughout their lives. Improve student fitness and physical activity skills through a variety of structured TEKS-based physical activities such as dribbling, kicking, throwing, catching, jumping, jogging, and walking. Provides opportunities for all students to move in a safe and supervised environment.

Who is responsible for implementing WOW? Coordinated School Health Chair (CSHC) Classroom Teachers

CSHC Responsibilities Provide training to the classroom teachers on the WOW Module Support classroom teachers with ideas and resources to implement structured physical activity

Classroom Teachers Responsibilities Follow the campus WOW schedule and provide students with supervised TEKS based physical activities to meet the state mandated time of 135min. per week Provide a structured physical activity grade on the students’ report cards
