DESCRIPTIVE WRITING VOCABULARY Dominant Impression An overall feeling the details work together to create Concrete words Provide very specific details about their subject and often appeal to several of the senses Active verbs Show someone or something performing an action. Are often preferable in writing to linking verbs or passivized constructions Descriptive verbs Verbs that create a vivid depiction or help convey a dominant impression instead of just providing information
