5/9/081 CP WG γ from trees meeting Guy Wilkinson, 2/4/09

5/9/082 Roadmap Roadmap draft is now released to collaboration (thanks Jim et al.): Please read and comment before 22 April (naturally it has changed a little since internal draft was circulated) Page with supporting information also exists: Some supporting notes still to be made available (even in draft form)!

5/9/083 Stripping / HLT / MC Production Closed meeting on 20/3/09 attempted to discuss organisation for ongoing HLT2 / stripping studies. Slides and meeting summary on: Follow up discussion in yesterday’s PPG, with simulation strategy request to be forwarded to next OPG. Main conclusions: large scale (10 9 ) min bias simulation to be launched for detailed feasibility study of HLT2 + stripping performance on core channels (this doesn’t mean non-core channels are to be ignored; it means we are first conducting a proof-of-principle test) simulation will match likely 2010 conditions: 10 TeV, 50 ns spacing, and bunch-bunch lumi to be decided (realistically we expect a lumi of a few 10 31, but simulation may run with more ‘demanding’ scenario) new version of trigger to be released which will allow analyses to study HLT2 performance vs certain knobs. follow up open HLT/stripping meeting to discuss preliminary findings (date to be fixed)

5/9/084 Consequences for this sub-group In consultation with Marta, will define some representative channels for performance evaluation for this coming HLT / stripping meeting Need to stay in close contact with our HLT2 representatives on topo and D (*) X trigger to make sure they are meeting our needs, as well as those of other hadronic channels (eg. charmless – discuss with Vincenzo) Note that near-future simulation plans are only to generate events according to 2010 conditions. Ergo, we must focus on 2010 ! Continued development of stripping algorithms essential. Realistically, we expect n x 100 pb -1 of data (where n < 3) Important point: low lumi will mean we will run with (much) lower L0 thresholds So, if our HLT performs well, 0.1 fb -1 of data in 2010 will have higher yield in hadronic signal channels that 0.1 fb -1 in 2011→ ! (could be a rather significant effect for certain studies, especially prompt charm) So this WG has much to gain from the coming run!

5/9/085 Convenor, next meeting Tim Gershon has been proposed as new convenor for this sub-group Next meeting: 30 April
