Draw, analyze, and use bar graphs and histograms. Organize data into a frequency distribution table The Frequency Distribution

Line Plot Line plot A display of statistical data on a number line so that patterns and variability in data can be determined. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 5’3”5’4’”5’5”5’6”5’7”5’8”5’9”5’10” Height of Viking’s Cheerleaders

Bar Graph A graphic form using bars to make comparisons of statistics. Note: Has spaces between bars. Back-to-back bar graph A special bar graph that shows the comparisons of two sets of related data. Plotted on a coordinate system with the horizontal scale repeated in each direction from the central axis. Netflix DVD VCR Year2000 Movies Year2010

Frequency Distribution A system of organizing data by determining classes and the frequency of values in each class. Range- Difference between the greatest and the least values in the set. Class Intervals- Range of each class. Classes should all be equal in size and are often multiples of 5. Class Limits- Upper and lower values in each interval. Class Marks- Midpoints of the classes. Retail Management Testing Scores ScoresFrequency

Histogram A type of bar graph in which the width of each bar represents a class interval and the height of the bar represents the frequency in that interval

Frequency Polygon A broken line graph drawn by connecting the class marks on a histogram
