Assignment Find a partner Find a monologue or soliloquy from The Diary of Anne Frank (Act 1-Act 2, Scene 2) Speeches must be at LEAST 8 lines of FULL text. NOT including stage directions. *8 lines is an absolute MINIMUM. There are choices that are significantly longer than this. Answer the questions on the worksheet to analyze this speech One of you must be prepared to perform this speech for the class

Now Write Your Own! Choose a character from The Diary of Anne Frank. Write an original monologue/soliloquy from this character’s point of view. Maintain the character’s personality traits. In other words, your speech should “sound” like your character. Briefly explain when in the play this would occur, contextually. EX: “In the first scene, right before Miep gives Otto the diary” OR “After Anne and Peter have their first kiss,” etc. Do something NEW and ORIGINAL in your speech. Don’t just paraphrase/repeat something that was already said in the play.
