OUR ENVIRONMENT IN DANGER OF DISAPPEARING/DAMAGING/SPOILING…… The WORLD MONUMENTS FUND, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting endangered ancient and historic sites around the world, has announced the 2012 world monuments watch list and LOS BERROCALES in Trujillo is one of them. Trujillo landscape which is in danger of being damaged and spoiled after the last three projects carried out by authorities: The Highway, The Power Station and the future Golf Camp. These BARROCALES were the old quarries used to build up the palaces in the town and there are also prehistoric sites all around. The Town Hall is working to make them be designated as World Heritage Site by Unesco and also be included within the Mediterranean Cultural Landscape list.
