Today’s Agenda 1.Discuss objectives of today’s course 2.Discuss background information pertaining to Skyward 3.Work through the training manual 4.Review the training items 5.Complete the course evaluation Today’s training will be primarily centered around the steps for performing the discussed tasks in Skyward. If you have questions that are more policy/procedural in nature, the instructor will do his best to answer your questions and/or find out the answer by the end of the day.

Why are We Changing? Pearson Corporation, owner of SASI, announced that SASI will no longer be upgraded or supported after August Without upgrades and support, SBISD must move to a new Student Information System. Skyward was selected by an SBISD committee of campus and technology personnel as the product to replace SASI.

Benefits of Skyward Web Based - accessible from anywhere you have an internet connection. Real time updates - no overnight processes. Changes are updated instantly. Single Parent Portal - one family login for all of their children attending SBISD. Attendance will be taken through Skyward so there will be only one program to log into. No more exporting grades. The system will pull the grades directly from your gradebook.

What Web Browser Works Best? The Skyward company recommends using Firefox. An additional benefit to Firefox is that it allows you to check spelling on text that you type in Skyward. Internet Explorer works fine as well. (Version 7 on all SBISD computers) No official tests have been conducted on any other browsers such as Safari, Google Chrome, etc.
