Questions to answer about Ch. 2 Who is at the bottom of the bunkhouse hierarchy? The top? What evidence from the book shows this ?

2. How does Candy’s name reflect his character?

3 Why is the boss suspicious of George’s protectiveness of Lennie?

4 Why does George lie about Lennie’s mental deficiency? Do you think it was wrong of him?

5 Describe the character of Curley.

6 Why does Curley’s wife pose a threat to George and Lennie?

7 Both the Boss and Slim say that not many men travel around together, their words are the same, but how are their reactions different?

8 One of the things we are focusing on is the idea of a motif, that is things that are repeated for significance. What are some of the motifs seen so far?
