2017 St. Patrick Summer Trips

NO! YOU JUST NEED TO HAVE THESE THREE ATTITUDES: A WILLINGNESS TO BUILD COMMUNITY WITH YOUR GROUP INTELLECTUALLY, SOCIALLY, AND SPIRITUALLY. THIS INVOLVES EXPECTED ATTENDANCE AT PRE-ARRANGED TRIP MEETINGS, PRAYER ACTIVITIES, SENDING FORTH MASSES, AND FUNDRAISERS. A RESPECT FOR THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE AND/OR TRAVEL TO BY COMMITTING OURSELVES TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE PLACES WE WILL VISIT, LISTENING FULLY TO THE STORIES OF THE PEOPLE WE ENCOUNTER, OPENING OURSELVES TO GROW FROM THE EXPERIENCE, AND FULLY PARTICIPATING IN THE EXPERIENCE BY COMMITTING ONESELF TO SIMPLE LIVING THROUGHOUT THE TRIP. AN HONEST EFFORT TO APPLY WHAT WE LEARN FROM THE TRIP TO OUR LIVES. Are these trips for only really holy people?

Young Neighbors in Action June 25-July

What happens at YNIA? Weeklong Catholic mission trip in another part of the country. This year we will sleep at a Church. During the day we go work doing different types of service work. During the evenings we do programming like games, songs, prayer, and more.

YNIA 2017 Any high school age student who has already completed their 9 th grade year.

YNIA June 25-July Commitment for Year Participation in all fundraisers (car washes, fish and chip dinners, bake sale, etc.) Attendance at the annual retreat Attendance at 24 Hour Food Famine SPIN Action Ministry (3 Times) Help at one John 21 Breakfast Help bring cans with Mrs. Haas (1 time) Send off Mass

YNIA June 25-July Cost Anticipated Cost pp $1200 Anticipated Group Fundraising pp- $300 Anticipated Individual Fundraising pp - $ Anticipated Cost pp $600 *Based on 30 teens going, and 6 chaperones. These numbers could change based on variables such as more funds raised, lower number of teens attending, higher transportation costs, and more. Parents are responsible for any additional monies not raised through fundraising. This will get added or subtracted from the Individual Funraising pp quote.

Steubenville East 2017

Steubie 2017 Any high school age student who has already completed their 9 th grade year.

What happens at Steubenville East? Weekend Catholic Youth Conference at the Tsongas Arena at UMASS Lowell. Catholic speakers, breakout sessions, comedians, musicians, and more take the stage. Saturday night Adoration Sunday Mass

Steubenville East 2017 Commitment Participation in our 1 fundraiser Attendance any meetings (1 for the year) Attendance at group summer breakfast Dates Has not been released yet, but ran July th this summer. Cost Has not been released yet, but would have cost $300 last year with no funds raised.

World Youth Day 2019

WYD 2019 All Ages but it is mostly geared towards those in: High School & College If you are 16 years old or younger by the time of the trip a parent needs to accompany you.

What do you do at World Youth Day? During week we explore the city, catechesis in the morning, and during the evening there is programming. Thursday we welcome the Pope Friday we do Stations of the Cross Saturday into Sunday we walk to the Vigil site, have adoration, go to sleep, and wake up and have Mass with the Pope. There is lot’s of walking, lots of people, and lot’s of fun!

World Youth Day Panama 2019 Commitment Participation in all fundraisers Attendance at all Culture Nights and meetings (1 a year until we get to 2019) Attendance at World Youth Day barbecue the week before the trip Cost Anywhere from $2,500-$4,000 per person. We suggest to start saving now. The trip this year cost around $4,000pp, and we raised $680 per person to defray costs. Dates This year they were in late July to early August. The dates have not been released yet. Information More information will come our way the closer we get to 2019 including itinerary, actual cost, actual dates, and more. As for right now anyone who is interested will begin fundraising efforts, and get together at least once a year for some group time/learning about Panama.

Sign Up Soon! Registrations are complete when the payment & form have been received. YNIA: There are only 30 spots- first come, first serve. If you are not a registered parishioner of St. Patrick’s then registrations will be accepted starting Sunday, September 4 th. Steubenville East: Registrations are open until November 1 st. World Youth Day: Rolling Registration: if interested please put in registration (w/o payment) soon so we can have an idea of who would like to go to begin fundraising efforts.
