Japanese Nobles Create Great Art The city of Heian was where the king lived in Japan. Nobles created a luxurious imperial court as advisors to the king in Heian. Nobles lived apart from the poor and enjoyed a simple life. Nobles of the court loved beauty and elegance. They had extravagant parties and enjoyed court music

Heian Fashion Period (write 2) Nobles wore intricately designed silk robes and gold jewelry. Women wore long gown made of 12 layers of colored silk.
