Fancy Writing A Poem? PiCk a topic You can wRite about anything Let yOur imagination run wild ChooSe the right words Write those Thoughts on paper Nothing is Impossible Be Creative! For YOUR acrostic poem spell out your first and/or last name with lines that describe you as a person and your interests. Acrostic Poem

Directions: Choose a theme or topic. It can be about nature, science, humanity, or even something more specific like a relationship (as seen below): A is for how I’ll Always love you B for how I’ll always Be true C is for my Commitment D for how I’ll Demonstrate it to you… Note: Poems do NOT need to rhyme, nor do you have to double up on letter usage as shown in this example. Alphabet Poem

Most successful authors write about what they know and/or like, so choose a topic that you’re interested in. Examples from past anthologies include: Animals, Sports (general and specific), Books/Literature, Movies and/or Celebrities, Cartoons, Video Games, Religion, Life philosophy, etc. Once a topic is chosen, all letters/lines must relate to that specific topic. Alphabet Poem

Here’s another example… ANIMALS A to Z Animals are truly amazing Bats and Birds to babbling baboons Cats like cougars beneath the full moon Dingos and dalmations, dogs of all kinds Elephants triumphant, never leaving our minds Note: Poems do NOT need to rhyme; however, they do need to be descriptive and not just a list of one or two words per letter.
