Subject Pronouns Are used to substitute nouns in the subject position Carla is a cashier at Starbucks Coffee. She works 4 hours a day. José and Carlos work at Gap. They have to work until 5:00.

Sears is a department store. It opens at 9:00 a.m. Sears and JC Penney’s are stores. They open at 9:00 a.m.

Subject Pronouns My niece’s father is a doctor. He is a doctor. My nephew’s mother is a doctor. She is a doctor.

My parents’ house is large. It is large. Her friends’ houses are large. They are large.

Possessive Adjectives/Possessive Forms My niece’s father is a doctor. Her father is a doctor. My nephew’s mother is a doctor. His mother is a doctor.
