Par Hear Read Sess 13 Why read with your child at home? Children who read regularly to someone at home learn to read quicker than children who only read at school Many researchers think that young children need to read words a week to become fluent readers. That’s a lot of practice! Hearing your child read for ten minutes, 3 or 4 times a week will help make your child a good reader Good readers tend to enjoy school more are usually confident and positive with others at home and at school

Par Hear Read Sess 14 Children talking….. “I feel all warm when I read to my Mum.” Amy “Now I read with my Dad, I am getting better at reading.” Brandon “I like getting my Mum’s attention for a bit.” Jamie “Its cosy when we read and we turn the TV off.” Dilip

Par Hear Read Sess 15 Why have some training in how to hear your child read? Parents talking…… “I have always read with my child, but since I have had some training, I know how to help and Jake enjoys it more.” “Priti and I enjoy having a few minutes special time together when we enjoy books. She is such a good reader now.” “Since I have been reading with Brandon, he has improved in school and is much better behaved.”

Par Hear Read Sess 16 About these sessions….. Four sessions, about 40 minutes each. We will talk about….. What good readers do. How to help your child when he/she is reading so reading is fun for your child and you enjoy it too! We will try to answer any questions you have.
