gustar vs. encantar Gustar - expresses likes and dislikes. Singular - gusta Plural - gustan Me gusta hablar con mis amigos. Encantar - is used to talk about things you really like or love. Singular - encanta Plural - encantan. Me encantan las vacaciones. * The verbs gustar and encantar only have two forms, a singular form and a plural form, they are not conjugated to agree with the subject.

The verb encantar cannot be used negatively. a + name/pronoun is used to clarify or emphasize who is doing the liking or disliking. clarify: ¿Le gusta a Rafael? emphasize: ¡Tú sabes que a mí me encantan los postres!
