WHY DO WE PLAN OUR CAREERS?

 YOU CAN’T SUCESSFULLY PLAN FOR THE FUTURE UNLESS YOU KNOW YOUR SELF. IF YOU HATE MAKING THINGS, YOU DON’T PLAN ON BEING A MECHANIC.  CAREER PLANNING BEGINS WITH SELF ASSESSMENT. CAREER PLANNING

 IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR JOB, YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO BEAT ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE THAT WANT IT.  AS TECHNOLOGY HAS MADE COMMUNICATION/TRAVEL FASTER, THERE ARE NOW MORE PEOPLE IN COMPETITION FOR YOUR JOB. YOU AREN’T JUST COMPETING WITH SEVERAL HUNDRED PEOPLE IN AMHERST. YOU ARE IN COMPETITION WITH 3 BILLION PEOPLE GLOBALLY.  WHAT DOES A BOSS LOOK FOR WHEN HIRING/KEEPING AN EMPLOYEE?  GOOD ATTITUDE  STRONG WORK ETHIC  NECESSARY SKILLS  LEARNING TO ADAPT TO NEW TECHNOLOGY CAREER GETTING/KEEPING

 THE MORE EDUCATION YOU GET, THE HIGHER YOUR PAY WILL USUALLY GO. EVEN FOR JOBS THAT DON’T REQUIRE A COLLEGE DEGREE, YOU USUALLY GET PAID MORE IF YOU HAVE MORE TRAINING.  IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MONEY, YOU NEED TO BE A STUDENT! CAREER ADVANCEMENT

 GETTING A JOB IS ONLY THE FIRST PART OF THE BATTLE.  YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND MANAGE YOUR MONEY SO YOU CAN KEEP YOUR JOB AND HAVE MONEY COMING IN. THIS IS CALLED FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY.  BE CAREFUL HOW YOU SPEND YOUR MONEY  SAVE MONEY WHEN YOU CAN(OR INVEST IT IN SOLID BUSINESS DEALS)  BUY INSURANCE  KEEP A BUDGET  DON’T OVERUSE YOUR CREDIT CARD  GET CONTRACTS AND KEEP TRACK OF WARRANTIES RESPONSIBILITY
