Grammar Lesson 26 Vocabulary: Delusion- a persistent false belief, which is usually pathological Illusion- a false belief produced by misinterpretation of things that actually exist Allusion- a casual or indirect mention of something

Transitive and Intransitive Verbs Transitive verbs: an action verb that has a direct object Examples: Amendment I protects our freedom of rights. We may have peaceful assemblies.

Intransitive Verbs Intransitive verbs: verbs that have no direct object Examples: Civil liberties are individual freedoms. The protestors were gathering quietly.

Examples The same verb can be transitive in one sentence but intransitive in another Thomas Jefferson wrote political theories. (transitive) Thomas Jefferson wrote convincingly. (intransitive)
