GTCS MASS RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM TOWARDS REAL SUSTAINABILITY GOING GREEN IN THE TRUE SENSE

KOCHI METRO BECOMES THE FIRST METRO IN THE WORLD TO GO GREEN 100% GTCS INTENT

THE MAJOR APPREHENSIONS REGARDING VARIATIONS IN EXISTING DESIGNS AND COSTS ARE DISCUSSED: GTCS APPREHENSIONS

GTCS 1.DESIGNS BY EGIS : 2.BOQ PREPARED FOR TENDERING 3.DESIGN BY IIA FOR FINISHES 4.BOQ PREPARED FOR FINISHES 5.TIMELINES 6.VARIATION IN COST :NO CHANGE :NO VARIATION IN SPECIFICATION :NO VARIATION IN ITEM SPECIFICATION :NO CHANGE :NONE DUE TO GREEN INTENT IMPACT OF INTENDING TO GO GREEN 100%

SUSTAINABLE REVENUE EARNING SUSTAINABLE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT GTCS SUSTAINABILITY IS TWO PRONGED AND MUST GO HAND IN HAND

GTCS SUSTAINABLE REVENUE FOR METRO EMERGES FROM INCREASING USER BASE INCREASE THE ZONE OF INFLUENCE REDUCING DEPENDENCE ON CONVENTIONAL MODE OF TRANSPORT ZONE OF INFLUENCE with extended feeders

GTCS SUSTAINABLE REVENUE FOR METRO PROVIDING MULTIPLE USER FRIENDLY AMENITIES IN STATIONS

GTCS SUSTAINABLE REVENUE FOR METRO PROVIDING FEEDER BUSES (3 KM RADIUS) / ALTERNATE TRANSPORT FACILITY TO INCREASE ZONE OF INFLUENCE INCREASE DEPENDANCE ON WALKING AND CYCLING TO WORK Covered walkway for pedestrians Cycling to Work Battery / Hybrid Buses for Feeders

GTCS SUSTAINABLE REVENUE FOR METRO CAN HAPPEN WITH GREEN INNOVATION 1.Feeder Bus Service for each station (Battery operated) is Strong and Reliable. 2.Proper facility for cycle parking is provided on each station. 3.Proper and SAFE cycle tracks to be provided all along the Metro Track length. 4.Proper Covered walkways are provided for pedestrians to walk SAFELY on the Roadside. 5.PARKING FOR CARS(Petrol/ Diesel)ON STATIONS TO BE REDUCED. 6.Car Parks for Alternate fuel vehicles to be increased.

GTCS SUSTAINABLE REVENUE FOR METRO CAN HAPPEN WITH GREEN INNOVATION 1.Parking Charges for Cars parked in Metro Station premises to be kept at Minimum Rs 100/- per hour. 2.Special Parking facilities to be provided for Physically Handicapped people FREE of Cost. 3.Integration with regular route buses to be made. 4.KMRL to prevail over Govt Authorities to convert all City Buses to CNG.

GTCS GREEN IMPACT ON ACCOUNT OF ABOVE REVENUE IMPROVEMENT MEASURES Improves the Reach of the Metro rail System to motivate more people to use the system, and thereby refrain from using regular mode of transport like cars, scooters and even buses. Direct Impact is REDUCTION of Green house Gases. Reduction of Traffic Congestion on ROADS, again leading to further reduction of Green house gases and pollution at road intersections.

GTCS GREEN IMPACT ON ACCOUNT OF ABOVE REVENUE IMPROVEMENT MEASURES Motivation for more people to walk/ cycle for some distance to reach the nearest station, and then move across the city. Direct impact on the individual is : BETTER HEALTH Direct Impact on the City Transport System (NON Metro) is : REDUCED density of use of Roads

GTCS GREEN IMPACT ON ACCOUNT OF ABOVE REVENUE IMPROVEMENT MEASURES DIRECT IMPACT on HEALTH and MENTAL state of users, leading to Lower incidents of road rage Lower incidents of frustration due to traffic jams. Reduced stress levels on motorists and users. Better performing individuals contributing to the GDP of the Nation.

GTCS MASS RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM BUILT ON THE GUIDELINES AS INDICATED SHOULD BECOME THE CAUSE AND MOTIVATION FOR RE-ORIENTATION OF THE URBAN MASSES TO THINK DIFFERENTLY AND ACT RESPONSIBLY

GTCS THE WAY FORWARD REGISTER WITH IGBC : KMRL to pay Statutory Fee COMPLETE FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR IDENTIFICATION OF POSSIBLE RATING: GTCS (No Cost) PRESENTING THE POSSIBLE RATING WITH CURRENT DESIGNS TO MD, KMRL AND DMRC by GTCS (No Cost) DECISION TO PROCEED WITH THE SAME, OR IMPROVE: KMRL/ DMRC / EGIS (No Cost)

GTCS THE WAY FORWARD GUIDELINES FOR IMPROVEMENT : GTCS ( No Cost to KMRL) ASSESSMENT OF COST AND SCHEDULE VARIATION, IF ANY: DMRC AND KMRL WITH PMC ACCEPTANCE/ REJECTION/ MODIFICATION OF SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENTS : KMRL/DMRC THIRD PARTY COMMISSIONING AGENCY TO BE APPOINTED : KMRL/GTCS (Payable) SUBMISSION TO IGBC FOR RATING : GTCS ( No Cost to KMRL)

GTCS THE WAY FORWARD EVALUATION OF SUBMISSIONS BY IGBC : STATUTORY FEE PAYABLE TO IGBC AWARD OF RATING BY IGBC REVIEW/ APPEAL IF REQUIRED: STATUTORY FEE PAYABLE TO IGBC FINAL AWARD OF CERTIFICATION AND PLAQUES
