Assignment one Leading-Managing Professional Guide 40% Assignment 1: developing a leading-managing professional guide 40% Working from the importance and value of understanding various professional words/terms/concepts, four words/terms/concepts have been selected from the EDFD314 unit learning outcomes. Your task is to create a Professional Guide (an annotated glossary) with the four selected words/terms/concepts as your first entries. advocate – being an advocate communication leading-managing organistion (options: structure, climate, processes, meanings) For this assignment, you are to define, describe and discuss each word/term/concept with literature support (one page only). Incorporate at least TWO references for each word/term/concept. On a second page, formulate a final paragraph (no more that half a page per word/term/concept) with an explanation of how/why this word/term/concept has current meaning for you. Following this paragraph create your working definition for each word/term/concept. Semester 2, 2016

Assignment two Policy critique and advocacy 60% Part A: 400 words Select and discuss an early childhood policy. The policy should be at either a national or an international level. (Policy suggestions will be provided). Part B: 400 words Analyse the impact that this policy may have on the lives of children and their families. Part C: 1600 words Examine the connection between policy and advocacy in early childhood and suggest advocacy strategies, which may be implemented to ensure enactment at a level to which you believe to be appropriate with consideration in ways in which leadership in early childhood education and care shapes approaches to policy, advocacy and practice.
