EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND PROCEDURES New procedure for medical emergencies – call campus police at x3200 and NOT student health Campus police are trained as first responders For life-threatening emergencies – call 911 New door locks installed on all doors (except bathrooms) Health Education Emergency Preparedness Committee – Annie, Sergio and Emily – all are welcome to join

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT COMPLIANCE Title IX Coordinator – Leilani Batiste x5053, Bungalow 213, VAWA enacted by then Senator Joe Biden in 1994 recognizing severity of violence against women Improved the criminal justice’s response to violence against women Obama administration reauthorized and strengthened VAWA in 2013 Requires primary prevention, awareness programs for all incoming students and employees Requires grievance procedures and disciplinary action Changes the definition of consent to positive consent Reporting requirements – responsible employee

EQUITY HLTH received Equity funding for CHW pathway at SEC, small amount for WAYPASS, and Metro Department Equity Initiative – decided to focus on bringing resources to students – connections with Student Health Services and Counseling List of resources for students on Health Ed website: physical-education/health-education-and-community-health-studies0/student-resources.html Wanting to improve writing – workshop by Cynthia Slates Other thoughts moving forward

PROGRAM REVIEW PLANNING OBJECTIVES Continued online course development Expand and support high demand CTE programs Expand and support Metro Transfer Academies Close equity gap in general education and certificate HLTH classes Investigate CEU/CME credits for HLTH courses Replace anticipated retiring faculty

PROGRAM REVIEW RESOURCE REQUESTS 1.Full-time HLTH Admin Support 2.Community Health Worker Expansion to Southeast Center 3.Metro Transfer Academy Support 4.Replace Anticipated Retiring Faculty 5.Expand High Demand CTE Programs 6.Support CTE Students through IBEST model adn 7.Online course development 8.Explore CEU/CME credit
