The Children I Serve Kindergarten Special Needs

The Task  To Combine Photo Story 3 with our current program, Jolly Phonics, to aid in teaching phonemic awareness.

The Plan To Introduce the Letter and Sound using Jolly Phonics. To Introduce the Letter and Sound using Jolly Phonics. Add in the element of Photo Story with the aid of the students.Add in the element of Photo Story with the aid of the students.

Adding the Student’s Input  Allow the students to record their voice for the sound to go with the letter.  Allow the students to decide on a picture to include that begins with that sound.  Allow them to record their voice for the picture saying the word.

Projected Outcomes  The students will be more involved since they are putting their own “movie” together.  They will hear their own voices saying the letter sounds.  They have input as to what goes into the “movie” and that will hold their interest.  It can be built upon all year long.  It can be easily copied and sent home to work with at home or for them to “teach” their parents what they are learning.
