The 7 HABITS Crash Course They’ll Make You or Break You

The 10 Year Experiment “Your job is to introduce yourself to the class as you were exactly ten years ago today and tell us a few things about yourself.” Use the template below to complete your introduction. The date ten years ago today is: My name is: I am _____ years old. I live in: I live with: My favorite things to do are: I feel:

The 10 Year Experiment “Now, shift gears. Your job is to introduce yourself to us again, this time as you would like to be ten years into the future. Tell us what you're doing and a little about yourself. Remember, this is how you would like to be ten years from now. The date ten years from today is: My name is: I am ______ years old. I live in: I live with: My favorite things to do are: I feel:

Journal Activity: In your journal reflect on your “time travel.” “When you went back ten years, what memories surfaced? Were you in a good spot or a bad one? What did you see ten years from now? What do you want to do and who do you want to become over the next decade? The 10 Year Experiment

Using a dictionary, look up and write in your journal the definition of the following words: PARADIGM PRINCIPLE Let the CRASH COURSE Begin

On the next slide is a chart with numbers from Your challenge is to find each number on the chart starting at 1, then 2, then 3, and so on, all the way to 54. Take 1 ½ minutes, and see how many numbers you can find. There are not missing numbers or tricks. Let the CRASH COURSE Begin Are you ready? On your mark! Get set! GO!

Let the CRASH COURSE Begin And timer?

How far did you get? ▪ Most people get to about the number 30. ▪ I want you to try again….but before you do that, I’m going to teach you a method to help you locate numbers.

Divide the box into nine equal squared section. Working left to right and in sequence, find one number in each box, then repeating starting back at the top till you find them all in this pattern: Now, try again and see how you do! Let the CRASH COURSE Begin Week 2:pg , 54

GO!

So how did you do this time? ▪ Perhaps you got all the way to 54 ▪ What was the difference? ▪ I gave you a new way of thinking – a framework- to help you find the numbers. ▪ That’s what the 7 Habits are. A framework or way of thinking that can help you solve your problems better and faster.

Back to Paradigm & Principle ▪ What did you get for the definitions out of the dictionary? ▪ Paradigm: In simple words, it’s how you view the world, your perception of it or your point of view. To better understand Paradigm and a PARADIGM SHIFT; Read What’s A PARADIGM? On pgs of Six Most Important Decisions. ▪ Principle: No…it’s not who runs the school! That’s the Principal. Actually, principles are natural laws. Gravity is a principle. To better understand the concept of Principles, read pgs of Six Most Important Decisions.

There are principles that govern the physical world and principles that govern human interaction. Those principles are : Honesty, hard work, respect, service, focus, patience, responsibility, love, renewal, choice and justice…plus there are dozens more!

Sooooo….... ▪ Think about the ‘10 year experiment’ ▪ Now…think about Paradigm and Principle ▪ What was your Paradigm when you reflect back ten years ago? ▪ What is your Paradigm of where you will be ten years from now? ▪ How do Paradigm and Principles affect where you will be ten years from where you are now? Will you succeed and be where you want to be in ten years? ▪ How has your Paradigm and Principles changed from where you were ten years ago till now? ▪ Reflect on your journal answers. In what ways can you work on changing your paradigm (have a Paradigm Shift) as well as working on your Principles, so that you can get from where you were ten years ago, where you are now, and succeed to be where you see yourself being ten years from now?
