Do you know what a complete sentence is?  A SENTENCE is made up of one or more words that express a complete thought. A sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a period, question mark, or exclamation point.

Let’s look at some examples.  Sylvia feels happy this morning. Because the sun is shining. She is leaving early to take a walk in the woods.  "Because the sun is shining" is a sentence fragment.
