What is Maths Blast? Maths Blast is a fun and intensive maths programme that has been running at Scoil Phádraig Naofa since September for 40 minute sessions each day. During Maths Blast sessions, each class is divided into four or five groups that work at different stations. At each station, the pupils engage in games/activities that complement weekly topics based on the class maths plan.

At each station, a teacher works with a group on a particular aspect of the weekly maths topic. The groups rotate to a different teacher every eight minutes. There is also an independent station. This enables pupils to work autonomously and can involve solving word problems, tackling maths challenges or accessing an extensive range of interactive maths on our iPads.

What are the advantages of teaching maths through Maths Blast?

Pupil feedback: “I love playing maths games. They are so much fun.” “I like the way we work in groups with different teachers.” “I like playing maths games on the Whiteboard.” “I love Maths Blast. It’s a fun time in our day.”
