Language Phonics/ Reading / Writing Jolly phonics = blending/skills and phonological awareness are strong predictors of reading success. 3 new sounds are taught every week but phonics teaching happens every day. Children will have a sound book which goes home 3 times per week. The most important thing is that children are confident with the sounds and able to manipulate them and use them regularly, for different purposes and in many different ways Reading Schemes used at Busby Storyworlds – 4 different worlds.
