43/9/2009 Motivation for updates From an industry standpoint, we need a complete standard in mid Our m System Requirements Document (SRD) have a lot of features and we cannot complete all of them in the time line we originally planned. We also need a m draft standard as a stable reference for basing the IMT-Advanced Proposal Core PHY, MAC features for IMT-advanced simulations need to be complete by May session –First set of system simulations need to be run for link budget and performance compliance by the July session. –In July we need to review the results and make any feature updates necessary –We need to run final simulations by Sept session So we need to discuss this week how to update the work plan. –Basic idea is to figure out what high level features beyond the IMT-Advanced features in the SRD that can be considered for staging. –How to achieve staging of the work from a process standpoint –Prepare updates to the work plan to achieve the staging we desire
