Important Facts  Police Duties: Enforce laws, Respond to Emergency and Non-Emergency Calls, Obtain Warrants and Arrest Suspects.  Detective Duties: Investigate Crimes, Prepare cases and Testify in Court.  $74,300-Detective and Criminal Investigations.  $55,270-Police & Sheriff’s Patrol Officers.

Education Facts and Requirements.  At least a high school diploma or GED & Finish Academy. There is an OPD Academy located in Omaha, NE.  Recruit before Officer, promotion to Detective after Officer.  Must be a U.S. Citizen, 21 years or older, have a drivers license and meet the Physical Qualifications.
