Education Facts and Requirements. At least a high school diploma or GED & Finish Academy. There is an OPD Academy located in Omaha, NE. Recruit before Officer, promotion to Detective after Officer. Must be a U.S. Citizen, 21 years or older, have a drivers license and meet the Physical Qualifications.
