Audience o Is the audience named specifically? o What do I know about this audience? o What are the audience’s expectations?

Purpose o What should this writing accomplish? o How does the purpose suit itself to a specific genre or style?

Strategies o Which strategy or strategies would work best for this genre or purpose? o Compare/contrast o Cause/effect o Classification o Examples o Definitions o Statistics

Write an informational essay about the relationship between clothing styles and developments in clothing creation. Your essay must be based on ideas, concepts, and information from the “Clothing Over Time” passage set. Manage your time carefully so that you can read the passages; plan your response; write your response; and revise and edit your response. Be sure to use evidence from multiple sources; and avoid overly relying on one source.

o Refer to the annotations you have made during the close reading of the sample argument task. o Then complete the graphic organizer “Set T.R.A.P.S. to dissect a writing prompt” to further analyze the prompt and plan your writing.
