Environmental Issues An estimated 13% of bottle water is recycled in the U.S. Approximately 90% of plastic bottle water becomes liter or garbage. In million tons of bottle water were put in landfills. Plastic bottle water are produce by petroleum oil. The manufacturing and transporting of bottle water causes pollution in the air and the in water supply. 2 billion half-liter bottle water was shipped to US ports in 2006, causing thousands of tons of global warming pollution and air pollution. Letters to Congress, FDA, or Governor. Purchase re-usable bottle water. Recycle plastic bottle water. Ask parents to buy a filter for home tap water. Most importantly, Know Your Water Status! Bottle or Tap
