STRUCTURE: QUESTIONS 1.What key is the music in at the start? 2.Name the three most closely related keys. 3.Describe the main characteristic of this opening theme. 4.When is the next “different” thing? 5.Where are the violin parts in bar 13 derived from? 6.What is the key in bar 17? 7.How does Haydn achieve this modulation? 8.What do “Evangelist”, “Christ” and “Jews” mean? 9.How many perfect cadences are there in bars 39-44? In which key?
