{ Morlolet’s Tree frog Endangered BY Abi Strano Hour:5

Fun Facts 1) Also known as the black-eyed leaf frog. 2) The tree frog is part of the family Hylidae. 3) They were kept as pets until the IUCN Red list came out in 2001 and had them on it because of habitat destruction and diseases.

Fun Fact 2  4) The population n is going down because they are being killed by a disease called Chytridiomycosis  5) The dieses could kill up to 80% of the population in the next 10 years.

 You can find these tiny little frogs in Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico. They are found in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. Habitat

Diet  They eat small insects and other small invertebrates (such as spiders)

Biotic/Abiotic factors  The non living part of the habit is cold weather, drought, tornado, Fire, to much heat  the living part of the habitat Predators like (6, birds, hedgehogs, and water shrews), Lack of food to eat, Habitat destroyed, diseases

Limiting Factors  The limiting factor of the Morolet tree frog is small snakes. The small snakes are out to get there food.

Ability/Adaptions  The ability to adapt to different weather or different places is hard for the frog before if it is so hot out that the water will dry up and then if it gets to cold the frog can die from being to cold.

Numbers at present  Chytridiomycosis Chytridiomycosis probably the main cause of the disappearance of populations in Mexico, and the species is now probably seriously at risk from this disease. Habitat destruction due to subsistence and small holder agriculture is also a threat to this species, which also was formerly common in the pet trade.

 IT in the butterfly effect because spiders and other small insects and then when a snake spots them it is a meal for them so the circle just keeps going Why is it in the butterfly effect
