Archbishop Youth Trust Award This programme offers children the chance to make a difference in our local community. It teaches children leadership and teamwork skills, as well as teaching them the importance of looking after all members of the community. This award is based around a central character called Archie Bishop who represents many of the young people that the Archbishop of York Youth Trust supports. Archie is a dynamic young person who is always looking out for others and is passionate about serving his community and changing the world for the better. Throughout the year, children will learn about his story and how it relates to the good work they will be doing in the community. The Award is a combination of classroom based learning and learning outside of the classroom, as well as community action.

Throughout the year, children will complete challenges from Archie:

Home Learning Please read as often as possible with your child. This should be a wide range of text types. Practise their spelling pattern words and tricky spellings. Learn and practise all the times table facts including matching division facts up to 12 x 12 Complete any holiday homework to gather information on the topic we will learn to share in class. We offer Education City home access.

Free School Meals (Accessed 11th July 2016) Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following: Income Support income-based Jobseekers Allowance income-related Employment and Support Allowance support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190) Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit Universal Credit If you feel you are eligible for free school meals or would like more information please visit the school office for an application form.
