BUS A popular way to travel in cities is on a bus. “How did you get here today?” “I took a bus.”, “I traveled by bus.”, “I came by bus.”

BUS SCHEDULE FIRST: A bus schedule tells you the times a bus departs and arrives and where the bus is going. Find a bus schedule on the internet. You can also look at a bus schedule at the ticket window. A ticket window is where you buy a ticket for a bus.

BUS STOP Sometimes there are small buses you can take around one city. (Not far trips.) Look at the bus route (where the bus travels) online before finding a bus. Go and wait at a bus stop for the bus to come. Pay the bus driver and he/she will give you a ticket on the bus.

TAXI A popular way to travel in cities is by taxi. “How did you get here today?” “I took a taxi.”, “I traveled by taxi.”, “I got a taxi.”

TAXI In a big city, you can wait outside for a taxi to drive by. Wave your hand to make the taxi stop for you. Tell the taxi driver where to take you. Negotiate 谈判 the price. Sometimes you can negotiate the price before the trip or after the trip.

TAXI You: I need to go to the library downtown. Taxi Driver: Alright. You: How much will that cost? Taxi Driver: $11 You: $11? How about $8? Taxi Driver: I can take you there for $9. You: Ok, that’s fine.

TAXI In a small city, you have to call a taxi company to come get you.
