Example report layout

Always give your report a meaningful title!

Introduction: oState aims and objectives of your report oSay briefly what has been asked and how you completed the tasks set oState the sources for data used and the software applications used

Main findings: oReport on key findings from results of your calculations oDiscuss key calculations such as; Total, averages, % change and % share oDiscuss graphs and charts that support your findings oIf possible compare and contrast 2 options and conclude with your final choice

Conclusion: oSummarise key findings oAnswer the question oInclude and forecast graphs that help strengthen your conclusion

Additional research Use the internet or online Athens database to search Emerald, Ingenta, Mintel etc to find supporting evidence for your report Can be a quote, table or supporting graph (remember to hand in a copy of your additional research and reference it properly)

Remember!!! Any table or chart printouts to be formatted correctly and consistently: Alignment, headers and footers, shading, labels etc You must print out a formula sheet for any tables you use and include them in your report Make sure all charts and graphs are labelled correctly, minimum 2 charts included (max 4)What are you trying to show in your chart? Charts or tables to be embedded into your report and explanations as to their relevance 500 words – Make them count, remember its quality not quantity!
