By-Name List Simulator Moving Veterans to Housing One Turn at a Time

Game Introduction You are all members of a Community By-Name List Team working to connect Homeless Veterans to housing resources. You each represent different agencies and resources throughout your community.

By-Name List Members

Your Role Each member of the team is given a folder. On the cover of your folder is your Character Sheet. This sheet describes who you are and what resources you have at your disposal.

Who we are and What we do Now would be a great time to introduce yourselves to your other team members and familiarize yourself with your resources. Start by sharing:  Your Name,  Your Agency, and  Your Intervention

Today’s Meeting It’s Wednesday afternoon and time for your Community’s By-Name List Meeting. You have 7 clients to review today. You can only spend up to 5 minutes per client.

The Goal You need to figure out what to do with each case that is reviewed today. Who’s taking the lead? What are the next steps? What resources can we connect this person to? What do we do if we can’t find them?

Use Your Resources The resources are here to help you help the Veterans. Ask questions. Talk it through. Check in with the audience. We may have some experts or creative problem-solvers among us.

America’s Veterans are counting on you. Ready…Set…BEGIN!!!!
