Why pick a small private? Personal Attention Academic Climate Student Success Involvement & Leadership Opportunities Holistic Admissions Process Financial Assistance

Personal Attention Smaller class sizes leads to more interactions with faculty. In turn, recognition of student’s distinctive qualities. Professors & your Advisor will know you by name. Both can help shape curriculum for double major or major/minor, study abroad, research, etc. Recognize strengths you may not see yet!

Academic Climate ACTIVE LEARNING! Research with faculty Expectation of being prepared Spirited discussions Tolerance and respect of differing opinions No sitting back in a huge lecture hall

Student Success Faculty also chose to work at a small private institution! Faculty teach classes and advise student organizations – not graduate students. Encourage creativity, critical thinking, innovation and exploration – across curr. Your faculty will likely recognize if you are having difficulty grasping concepts.

Student Success cont. Personal attention and academic rigor leads to student success: – Higher 4 year graduation rates – 1 on 1 Career Center advising – Tight Alumni group – Personalized placement for internships and jobs

Involvement & Leadership Typically student organizations with 4-5 officers per organization You WILL be involved Chances are also high you will take on at least one leadership role. Music, Theater, Newspaper, Radio, DIII athletics, and MUCH more!

Admissions Process Holistic Review – Writing Sample/Essay – Test Scores/Test Optional – Letters of Recommendation – Interview – Involvement in and outside the classroom – Demonstrated Interest
