HW 1.1 Problems 2. Name a plane that intersects the most planes. 3. Name the intersection of planes ABD and CDG There is an axiom, “if it saves even one life then it is worth it…” Is that true? Is it axiomatic?

Research shows… THURSDAY, July 16 (HealthDay News) -- Deaths and injuries on America's interstates have increased since the repeal of the federal 55-mile-per-hour speed limit in 1995, a new study finds, and some believe it's time to slow down again. Researchers tracking fatalities attributed 12,545 deaths and 36,582 injuries in fatal crashes to higher speed limits implemented during the study period

Postulate 1-6 Segment addition postulate: If three points, A, B and C are collinear, and B is between A and C, then AB+BC=AC

Angles An angle is formed by two rays with the same endpoint. The rays are the sides of the angle. The endpoint is the vertex of the angle. Angles are named by their vertex only or to be specific using all three points from the rays and endpoints.

Angle This angle can be named either:  B (named after the vertex only) or  ABC (named after the points of the rays, also, notice that the vertex is the middle letter) Which name is better, does it make a difference?

Classifying angles The black circle to the left is “cut” into pieces, we can measure those pieces in degrees. Every complete circle has a total of 360 degrees. Do the angles of this circle add up to 360? When it comes to angles, does the size of the circle matter? Whenever we discuss the size of an angle we will use degrees, we can also categorize angles based on their degree measurement. Angles between 0 and 90 degrees are acute. Angles that are exactly 90 degrees are called right angles. Angles between 90 and 180 are obtuse. Angles that are exactly 180 are straight angles. Angles bigger than 180 are exterior angles, don’t worry about them for now. x

Try these

The protractor postulate Just like the ruler postulate, the protractor postulate says that angles can be measured with a protractor.

Postulate 1-8 angle addition postulate If point B is in the interior of  AOC, then m  AOB+ m  BOC=m  AOC O AB C

Try these

Almost done!

Last one!!!! Algebra: m  OZP = 4r + 2, m  PZQ = 5r  12, and m  OZQ = 125. What are m  OZP and m  PZQ?
