Shaping our Future Synod – 19 March 2016

Shaping our future Gracious God, May your Holy Spirit guide us into the future. Help us, throughout the diocese, to show uninhibited reliance on your grace and power as we seek the renewal of our lives. Give us courage, rigour, imagination and generosity in order that your kingdom may come and your abundant life be known by all. Amen.

Three goals What is our purpose:  Grow the Church  Reimagine ministry  Serve the common good

Where we’ve come from Previous synod approved 8 recommendations Further development work by Bishop’s Staff in January was noted by Bishop’s Council in February Bishop’s Staff residential last week– with parish, chaplaincy, education/youth and diocesan staff involvement Rural deans/lay chairs, as well as principal officers (mission, ministry, education and support services), received briefing this week
