Build a clear, Concise Plan Know your facility: Number of emergency exits and locations Identify Danger zones (dark corners, blind spots, under stairwells, trip hazards) Any fire hazards or dangerous equipment on site. Room capacities and occupancy

Build a clear, Concise Plan Understand your participants: Limitations (toddlers, seniors) Type of program or activity Number enrolled or approximate amount of patrons present.

Build a clear, Concise Plan Staff resources: Number of staff available to assist in emergency Zones of responsibility, areas to be cleared Level of training of staff Certifications needed

Build a clear, Concise Plan Equipment available: An up to date list of what is available Easy to find locations Maintenance Checklists (are there enough supplies in your first aid kits before they go out to site?) Certifications to use equipment if needed (AEDs, emergency oxygen)

Build a clear, Concise Plan Documentation: Accident Incident Refusal of care Rescue Report Training Documentation *Be sure to include where the reports need to be turned in and in what time frame.

Certifications and Risk Management Know your regulatory agencies: Counties, OSHA, State, City Certifications: know your legal responsibility and limitations Consult your Risk Management team: verify your procedures and accompanying forms are legally acceptable to your insurance and leadership.
