WHO AM I? I have owned and operated 4 companies – 2 of which had CMV’s & managed several others I started doing what I do is because my company was fined about $100k and was almost shut down completely I have a Class A CDL and have done every job possible in the transportation side (office, HR, driving, inspecting, maintenance, executive, etc.)

WHAT IS AN ELD? WHY DO WE CARE? An ELD is a piece of hardware that replaces paper logbooks. ELDs sync with the engine’s computer to automatically capture driving events, and pass this information instantly to the driver and fleet manager. With ELDs, a fleet manager can access any driver’s log in real-time from a computer, and have it automatically audited. ELDs also show a driver’s current location and HOS availability, improving dispatch operations.

OVERVIEW OF ELD REGULATIONS The US government’s publishing of the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandate applies to over four million truck drivers. The ruling has many wondering about how ELDs will impact their fleet. ELD’s will be required by DEC 18, 2017! But wait, there are a few exceptions!
