Cont… We have rebooked flights again for 20/21st Oct in faith! It will be hugely disappointing for us all not to get back then. It is also hard for the Nepali colleagues we've left behind, who must also wonder what the future holds and who are keeping things going without the support they are used to. In the meantime we continue to work / study remotely and try to make the best of the circumstances we find ourselves in, keeping in close contact with people by / skype. It's a hard place to be in - thinking we're going to be on the move again, but then facing further setbacks. And yet we are learning patience, dependence on God and others and to be resourceful. We're struck that the insecurity we feel is nothing compared with what many in the world are facing in these days; we are grateful for the support we have from so many.;-) With thanks for your prayers, Debbie and Chris EXPLORING A CALL TO MINISTRY? THE Revd Sally Nelson, Baptist tutor at St Barnabas Theological Centre, Sheffield, writes : "Are you exploring a call to ministry? Ask your questions in a safe space on Thursday, October 20 th, 6.30pm to 9pm, at South Parade Baptist Church, Headingley, Leeds. Light refreshments will be provided so come straight from work! "Meet representatives of the YBA Ministry Group, the YBA Regional Team and the colleges." Sally for details and to let her know you plan to attend on PRAYER EVENT CHURCHES in Bradford are planning a prayer event for the Middle East at Bradford Cathedral on Sunday October 16 th at 7pm. The event is being co-ordinated by Wellsprings Together Bradford and Welfare Reform Impact Bradford and is open to all, with refreshments served from 6.40pm. The Bishop of Bradford, the Rt Revd Dr Toby Howarth, will be among the speakers. Set up in October – Mark Riches house group Set up in November - Lis Farquhar Please note that we are not allowed to use the equipment in the lower playground and that any children playing there must be supervised by an adult. Thank you! Send newsletter notices and news to or phone the church office on Thursday is the cut-off for any notices for that Sunday’s news-sheet. Our new office address is First Floor, 126 Harrogate Rd, Chapel Allerton, Leeds LS7 4NZ. The ministers of the church are Simon Hall ( ) and Robin Thomson ( ). SUNDAY 9th October 2016 Today Rick Walker will be leading our worship. After the break Mike Nix will be speaking to us on Luke We will also be celebrating communion this morning. Welcome to Chapel A THIS COMING WEEK Tuesdays at 11am in the church office - a short prayer meeting with the staff and whoever would like to pray for Chapel A. Housegroups generally meet on Monday, Tuesday and alternate Thursday evenings. Please see notice board in corridor. Tuesdays - Totally Tuesday for Years 5-7, pm in Chapel All. Methodist Hall. Wednesday – WOW youth group for Years 8+ in Chapel Allerton Methodist Hall. Please contact Hannah Dey on or about any of our usual groups for young people. Prayer Space We appreciate that praying privately and confidentially can be difficult in church particularly as often people are clearing away at the end of the service. If you would like to chat and pray in private there is a small room on the main school corridor that you can use. There should be a sign indicating which room it is so please feel free to use it. Likewise, if you would like someone to pray with you, Simon, Robin or one of the leadership team would be more than happy to. from The Drews We have received the following from the Drews who are in need of continued prayer support. Dear Friends, Thank you for praying for us about all our visa troubles. We wish we had good news to share, but sadly not yet. :-( Unfortunately a government official yesterday raised questions about INF's work and wants more time to consider things. If we don't get a sign off next week then Nepal will be into its festival season when nothing much happens for about a month.
