Welcome to Wilburn Elementary School! MRS. LANE & MRS. NICOL

Nightly Routine Every night your child will bring home their DOT binder. The DOT binder will contain weekly assignments, homework, helpful aides to assist in academic practice at home, any important papers that need to be kept at home or sent back to school, and any notes or money for me. Please send back every day! Homework will not begin for a couple of weeks.

Video & Picture Release Form Form that you can find in the folder. Please read and sign the form. You may leave it in the folder.

Letterland Through the studies of ABC’s, we use the program letterland. You will find information regarding the action of each letter in the DOT binder. Please have students to show you the action at home for practice, as we will be going through the ABC’s every week.

Bus Tags Students will wear a tag on their backpack if they are a bus or daycare rider. Please leave the tag on the backpack.

Breakfast If your child wishes to eat breakfast at school, please make sure they do so before checking in with us!

Carpool Please pick him/her up by 3:45. If you need to check your child out, please do so by 3:00.***Early Check outs and tardies may count against attendance*** You must have your carpool tag in order to pick up your student. If you have not received a number, please see the front office staff. ***Please do not come to the room for afternoon pick-up.

Notes If your child is changing his/her afternoon bus/pickup plans, please send a note the morning of and put it in the DOT binder with their name, date, teachers name, route number, and address.

Transportation Changes  Transportation changes must be made with a handwritten note the morning of. Please put notes in the DOT binder. We will NOT be checking backpacks.  I will NOT be allowed to accept transportation changes through s.

Volunteer Policy We absolutely love volunteers! We will not be calling you in until the end of September. This will give our children time to adjust! You may sign up to become a volunteer on the Wake County Schools website. I will need helpers to come work in class or groups, and even volunteers who can do other jobs out of their homes. Please let me know if you are interested!

Visitors & Volunteers Please sign in at the front office and get a sticker that states if you are a visitor. This is for the safety of your children, this is the school’s way of knowing who is on campus!

Lunch Our lunch time is 10:30-11:00 am. Cost of Lunch is:  Student, full paying $2.25  Students MUST have lunch money on their account. Please go on the Wake County Website or Wilburn Elementary to put money on their account OR send it in their DOT binder. Money must be in a Ziploc bag, with their name and reason for the money written on the bag.  Breakfast  Free

Snack Please provide a daily snack.

Was your child absent? If your child was absent, please send in a note. **Excessive absence's may result in retention** * Students must stay at school until 12:30 to be counted present*

Clothes and Shoes -Please send in seasonal appropriate clothes in case there is an uh-oh, there can be dry and clean clothes available! -Girls need to make sure to wear shorts under skirts and dresses. -Flip flops are NOT allowed at school. You may wear sandals with straps on the back. *Close toed shoes for P.E. and Music

Information Sheet  Please fill out my information sheet (Yellow or Orange). This will inform us of important information on how we may contact you and how your child will be going home daily.  During the year, if there is any telephone number changes please let us know, in case we need to contact you.

Donations Donations into the class are greatly accepted. Items that are constantly needed are: Magic Erasers (Mr. Clean) Baby Wipes Clorox and Lysol Wipes (to prevent sicknesses!!!) Books Velcro Expo Markers Ziploc bags (all sizes) Kleenex

!!! Fill free to me with any questions you may have throughout the year.

Class Dojo THIS IS A FUN AND INTERACTIVE WAY FOR STUDENTS TO EARN OR LOSE POINTS FOR THEIR BEHAVIOR. IF STUDENTS REACH 10 POINTS BY FRIDAY THEY WILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN FUN FRIDAY. -PLEASE REFER TO THE FORM FOUND ON THE TABLE TO LOG ON AND KEEP UP WITH THEIR PROGRESS.

Messages This year I will be sending messages out via Class Dojo to parents. Please sign up for Class Dojo before leaving today. If you are unable, please see me before you leave so that I can make other arrangements.
