Build and Sustain an innovative work environment Assessment 2

Creativity and innovation is the mental and social process used to generate ideas, concepts and associations that lead to the exploitation the new ideas. For this reason in Australia the process of innovate is driven by people at the workplace where tall the requirements and needs of an organisation’s customers and key stakeholders are identified, analysed and transformed into new or improved outcomes services and business processes all for the company benefits. Introduction

Objectives Ensure a proper environment which allows the creation and sharing of ideas Manage staff effectively Review and feedback ideas and proposals Analyse and follow up the changes´ effects in the workplace. Plan and develop methods to implement changes

Analyses The number of sources that can be used to generate new ideas for the business are: Suppliers, stake holders and employees who certainly are the key to add and suggest ideas to the creative process, as well as provide support and encouragement.. In order to have the most from them, it is important to implement an innovative environment which will lead to promote their creative thinking.

Set the scene ValleyView Publishing was established in 1990 by Angus Smissen and Alexander Sorensen. With five staff, they began a small backyard publishing enterprise focusing on local tourist guides. ValleyView continues to keep pace with the burgeoning interest in environmental tourism and the exciting opportunities offered by new technology.

change description To be called innovation, an idea or process must be replicable at an economical cost and must satisfy a specific need. Innovation involves deliberate application of information, imagination and initiative in deriving greater or different values from resources and includes all process by which new ideas are generated and converted into useful products and services. Many innovations arIn the contemporary workplace, managing change is a constant requirement for managers at all levels. Innovative workplace change would probably affect a company´s structure, staff, process, products and services. e small improvements, whereas others, like our changing communication tools and technology, are obvious improvements to the business environment. A change that certainly will affect the whole organisation could be described as broad, a new offices layout is a broad change.

Analyse the external and internal forces

Describe how the change will actually affect your work area The creation and implementation of the change will modernize the office which certainly would comply with the Australian standards that any business have to fulfil : These changes will affect positively : The environment of the office Computer and keyboards equipments Work breaks, exercises and stretches Basic occupational health and safety

Benefit of the change - what success looks like It will promote new ways of thinking to the employees It will improves the opinion employees and clients have about the organisation and working place It will allow to use better the building's floor space It will lead employees to increase the efficiency and productivity due to better and more enjoyable working areas It will facilitate the expansion and/or rearrangement of working areas when the need arises. It will facilitate the employee supervision.

Include your process for implementing the change with your work team Collaboration and empowerment are the most powerful basis for process and product development at any area of the business. These enhance and develop the following : Technologies or methods Products or outcomes Clients satisfaction Marketing Deploying talent Work environment Use of time Additional resources.

Outline how you would resolve issues and remove impediments to the change The key to the problem is to understand the true nature of resistance It is fundamental to include emphasizing new standards of performance for staff specialists and encouraging them to think in different ways. A first instinct from managers it should be to provide an advantage that relates to their people's work, such as "it will help you be more productive". But just as people want their jobs to be made easier, they also need to win personally. So it is important to be sure to not only give staff a work-related win but also a personal win, something that will make them feel good about themselves. By offering an alternative that provides grater benefits managers increase the perception of benefits – the fulfillment of personal objectives – that will come from the change. If people truly believe that the change can help them achieve their goals, then they'll embrace it.

Resources needed to implement the change and costs Changes involve and require something new or different, these usually mean using existing resources differently or acquiring new resources. These principal resources are:  Technical and physical  Budget  Time  Human

Related changes that could occur in the future and how your area might respond Communication equipment When creating a workspace in is very important to take into consideration where IT equipment will be located Technological devices such as computers, printers, etc will require space to properly breathe and a secure environment for sensitive data. Price versus quality Set up a realistic budget to work to, taking into the account that the cheapest option could lead to fails for great changes. Preparing the office layout for future growth can save on operating costs.
