 Right to liberty and the security of the person ◦ Sectioned under the Mental Health Act ◦ Example if a person is at risk of self – harm

 Right to a fair and public hearing ◦ Failure to involve the service user in any proceedings ◦ Example a mental health review/child protection conferences

 Right to respect for private and family life, home and correspondence ◦ Closer of care or nursing homes ◦ Patients kept in hospital because a suitable care package is not available

 Freedom of thought, conscience and religion ◦ The right to practice their religion ◦ No blood transfusion for Jehovah Witnesses
