HOW TO USE UNIVIEW PRODUCT-NVR
How to configure port mapping There are two port mapping methods are available: UPnP and Port forwarding on Router manually. UPnP a. automatic mode With UPnP enabled for Network Address Translation (NAT), the ports on the device can be mapped automatically to the router, and computers can access your NVR from outside the LAN. To use UPnP in your device, you must enable UPnP in the router to which your device is connected Auto mode is recommended. otherwise, ports will conflict if not configured properly.
How to configure port mapping b. manual mode If you want to use a specified external port, you can choose the manual UPnP. For an NVR with multiple NICs, port mapping should be configured based on the NIC specified as the default route.
How to configure port mapping Port forwarding on Router manually If your router does not support UPnP, then you need to configure internal and external ports manually. Step1. disable the UPNP function on your NVR, set the external ports manually.
How to configure port mapping Port forwarding on Router manually Step2. set the port forwarding on the router The principle of port mapping is that the internal and external ports of the NVR are consistent with that of the router.
How to configure port mapping Port forwarding on Router manually Some routers may require the same internal and external ports for the NVR and the router.
How to configure port mapping Port forwarding on Router manually You may verify by entering the following information in the address bar of your web browser:: router's WAN port IP address: external HTTP port. For example, if 65.164.52.165 is the IP address and 82 is the HTTP port, then you enter http://10.2.2.10:82. If port mapping is effective, the login page of the NVR will be displayed.

How to configure RAID One-click Create RAID Click One-click Create, and an array will be created automatically It is recommended to configure a hot spare disk to ensure reliable system operation and successful rebuilding in case an array fails. Only some NVR models support RAID. Currently only RAID 1 and RAID 5 are supported. You need two hard disks for RAID 1, and 3-8 disks for RAID5.
How to configure RAID One-click Create RAID There is no need to select disks. The system identifies all usable disks. RAID 1 is created when two disks are available. When three or more disks are available, RAID 5 is created. If more than four disks are available, a global hot spare disk will be created. Arrays created in this way are named ARRAYX, for example, ARRAY1, ARRAY2.
How to configure RAID Creating an Array Manually Click “create” to chose disks you want, then click “OK” to create RAID array. Note: No hot spare disk will be created automatically in this procedure.
How to configure RAID Creating an Array Manually You can set a hot disk by manually, click “ ”
How to configure RAID Delete an RAID Array You can delete an RAID array by click “ ” Note: An array is in one of four statuses: normal, degraded, damaged, rebuild. The status is normal if no physical disk is lost. When the number of physical disks lost reaches the specified value, the array is considered damaged. The status between normal and damaged is degraded. A degraded array can be recovered to normal status if you rebuild it. After an array becomes degraded, it can be rebuilt automatically within ten minutes if a hot spare disk is available, and if the capacity of the hot spare disk is not less than that of any disk in the array.
How to do with Hard Disk Roaming Uniview NVR supports hard disk roaming, so you are never worry about losing of the video recordings inside the hard disk even the NVR was broken. Remove the HDD from NVR “A” Install the HDD into NVR “B” Note: make sure the two NVR is the same model, only the same model support Hard disk roaming
How to configure weighted recording on event videos Uniview NVR can support weighted recording on event videos, which save the storage space at most and get best quality on event video. Step1: configure normal stream and event stream For example: set normal stream bit rate 1024kbps, Frame Rate 10fps; set event stream bit rate 4096kbps, Frame Rate 25fps;
How to configure weighted recording on event videos Step2: configure motion detection trigger recording Note: Event stream that is intended for recording triggered by events such as alarm inputs or motion detection alarms, so you can set alarm inputs to trigger recording or some other event to trigger recording.
How to configure weighted recording on event videos Normal stream without Event occur Turn to event stream automaticlly when event occur
How to configure long range POE Normally PoE distance is 100m,but with UNV NVR and UNV IP Cameras, it can reach up to 200m (100Mbps) /300m (10Mbps) PoE transmission distance with Cat5E or higher. It is easy to configure long range PoE on NVR via web or local NVR. Enable on NVR web Choose the IPC and click “Modify”, enable the Extended transmission, save. Note: Only UNV POE NVR and IPC can support this feature.

How to upgrade NVR via Serial Port Step3. Upgrade by u-boot Program was burned in FLASH and can be upgraded to selected version by u-boot. a. Enter u-boot mode when the device starting, screen shows hit “ctrl+B” to enter u-boot interface, screen shows:
How to upgrade NVR via Serial Port b. Set parameters of u-boot ipaddr should be in the same network segment with VLAN Server IP should be same with TFTP shows After set the parameters you can test whether the device is accessible to TFTP Server by ping the server IP, It means network is in good condition when it shows “alive”.
How to upgrade NVR via Serial Port c. upgrade the firmware Input the command” run burn_all” to upgrade core, program and web plugin. The loading and upgrading will run automatically. Please do not interrupt during the process.
How to upgrade NVR via Serial Port d. update u-boot type the command:update u-boot, the loading and upgrading will run automatically. At the end of upgrading, SecureCRT will ask “Erase U-boot environment? (y/n)”, please enter “no” and the device will reboot automatically and complete upgrading.
How to upgrade NVR via Serial Port Note: 1. Please make sure the device running, even if upgrading u-boot fails. During this process, please keep the power and do not reboot and upgrade once again directly. If transmission stops, please enter “ctrl+c” to break upgrading and check connecting and try again. Notice: Damage of u-boot is irreversible which needs sending back to repair 2. If upgrading u-boot fails, the device possibly needs sending back to repair. Please consider twice whether it is necessary to upgrade u-boot. Please follow the steps and be cautious during process. 3. In the upgrading process, if user makes a mistake to erase the environment parameters, the user could reset MAC address in u-boot. Commands as below: setenv ethaddr 00:e0:ef:04:99:45(set MAC address, make it unique in network) saveenv (save environment parameters)
