About India India is a country in South Asia and is the seventh- largest country in area. It is also the second most populous country with over 1.2 billion people. India’s capital is New Delhi. My home city is Mumbai/Bombay and that state is the Business/ Bollywood city. India’s national language is Hindi. My family is Gujarati but live in Mumbai.

India’s states, cities and languages There are 28 states and 7 union territories in India The cities of India are Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Surat, Agra, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, New Delhi, Pune and Ranchi. There are more than 50 languages in the Indian nationality, like Hindi, Gujarati and Pujabi.

India’s festivals There are 8 Popular Festivals in India, and the most popular festival is Diwalli. The other festivals are Holi, Navratri, Ganpati and etc. Diwalli is the main festival of India. It’s also known as the festival of lights. Diwalli is a five day holiday and people decorate their house, buy new clothes and enjoy lots of fireworks. Holi is a fun and colourful festival because you can put colour on friends and family. Holi is my favourite festival of all the others.
