March 16th, 2012AIDA S.Bianco Environmental sensors3 GIF (R.Fortin PH-DT-DI) The existing GIF sensors are ~15 years old and addressed via Profibus. Three weather stations in separate sampling locations: Control Room (T, RH, p) - Irradiation Room (T,RH) - Gas Area (T,RH,p) Each location uses a Wago module to provide the interface support. At the time of X5 beam the Profibus was made available to all GIF users, but today only the weather stations are connected. tcp/ip over the CERN network seems "lighter" to install if we start from scratch. The existing GIF system is not directly compatible with PVSS/DCS
