World Geography Ch. 5, 6, 7 TEST REVIEW

The US and Canada are located on the North American Continent ➲ The USA has many different climates because it spans so many lines of latitude. The further you go in the US, the colder it gets. Southern areas are hot. ➲ Canada has much colder climates because of the the proximity to the Artic Circle. Many Canadians have to adjust their living for this interaction with the cold temperatures. Many Canadians live close to the US border because of the warmer temperatures there.

Trade ➲ Because of the proximity between the US and Canada- they trade a lot ➲ Canada supplies the USA with energy resources b/c the US is the world's largest energy consumer. ➲ The US is one of the largest trading partners- exporting most of the world's goods and services- High GDP ➲ Canada's main export is lumber

The US Economy ➲ The American economy is strong because of land available for settlement and improvements, a skilled and educated labor force, and a stable political system. ➲ The US and Canada are the world's leading food exporter because of the fertile soils, waterways to ship crops to markets, and good climates to grow crops. ➲ Many immigrants came to the US for promises of land grants. The US has had so many immigrants that it is often referred to as “a nation of immigrants” ➲ Watch a cool video about immigration to the US by clicking below: There are a lot more!
