As described by Conchita Cintron "Within its small circle one finds life, death, ambition, despair, success, failure, faith, desperation, valor, cowardliness, generosity, and meanness—all condensed into the actions of a single afternoon or even a single moment."

What happens?- the fight Bull is let into the ring. Top bullfighter watches his chief assistant wave a cape in front of the bull to make it charge. He watches to determine the bull's qualities and mood, before taking over himself.

What happens?

What Happens? Trumpet is soundedTrumpet is sounded Several fighters called Picadores weaken the bullSeveral fighters called Picadores weaken the bull They place spears into it- takes around 10 minutes. They place spears into it- takes around 10 minutes.

What happens? Another trumpet sounds Matador removes his black winged hat and dedicates the death of the bull to the president or the crowd before beginning his faena.

What happens? The faena- the most "beautiful" and skillful section of the fight The matador must prove his courage and artistry. Carries a muleta= a piece of thick crimson cloth draped over a short stick Uses Espada = killing sword One wrong move and the Matador could become impaled on the horns of the bull.

What happens? Matador's job to make this dance dramatic and enjoyable for the audience. The faena continues until the Matador has demonstrated his superiority over the bull. Once this is achieved the bull is ready to be killed.
